the silver goddess smiled and something melted

michele is a silver goddess
what i mean is
she goddesses in silver
at ortega's, on the plaza
in santa fe

michele makes me blur
the line between
the hopi silver overlay
and her own surefooted elan
a confusion rooted
in juxtaposition
even if she's not wearing hopi
at the present time

michele has that dark-beautiful
hair and
those soft-beautiful lines
her manner is friendly
her friendliness
unmannered

i would wrap my hands
around michele
if only halfway

allowed

i may be

in doubt
daring
sacrilegious
or simply impolite but
i am hers

at least in part
and
of fitness at least 900

michele may thus goddess
in me
but if she chooses to do so
would she wear me

out
