Under an ochre sky
empty women reinvent suicide,
their bold fingers
caress October's
frosted hem,
words sleep
on marble shoulders
sink in the bosom of shallow altars.
In her dim bedroom,
stars drown
Ophelia's slender heart;
dust crushes a cicada wing.
