Gina Liotta

You handed me my body back
in a cardboard box with my flesh
in slivers like a gutted fish.
I strung the guts together with dental floss,
smiling at everyone who passed
to show off my new gown of worn skin,
letting them touch and stroke
the seams without giving myself
the chance to regenerate.
