Jennifer Hanks

We are here because telephones said I love you
and we could make ourselves say it back.
We are attached to each other's bodies
in an I-Hop parking lot.
when you touch my left hip
my spinal fluid turns to applesauce.
One day I will take your neck absently and kiss
the bubblegum out of your mouth.

Jennifer Hanks is a student at Sarah Lawrence College focusing in poetry and literature. When not at school, she lives in Beaumont, Texas.
