Sundress Weekend Workshops

The Sundress Weekend Workshops are a series of creative writing groups who meet in order to compose, revise, and grow as writers. These workshops are traditionally centered on a theme or topic for the weekend.

As part of Sundress Publications, the Weekend Workshops are monthly creative writing workshops focused on growing the literary arts in Eastern Tennessee. Workshoppers are treated to a minimum of ten hours of instruction by advanced writers in their fields who can help not only to hone their craft but help discuss how and where to publish it.

Each workshop also includes an element of incorporated learning, where attendees are taught a skill outside of the literary arts -- including pickling, beer-making, crochet, baking, archery, etc. These skills help to broaden the experiences and vocabulary of the writer in order to keep the writing fresh and engaged with the outside world. Our motto is "If you have to write what you know, you should probably know more."
