TWO YEAR OLD CHILD
just before the elevator doors close
you throw the basketball inside
and all the way down
you can hear it bouncing against the walls
between the floor and ceiling
until the elevator reaches the last floor
the doors open
it rolls out
bounces down a flight of stairs
over a bench
across the sidewalk
and then hurdles the fence
before landing in the fish pond like a
moon
