WINTER

Standing stone cold and innocent
a young girl wraps her mind around
the fire that is my hand.
This night; this cool fog that lays here
(we called it lonely).
This sometime moment when no one
really breathes, you cannot help but laugh.

There are other pictures too, floating
perfectly in motion with the clouds,
they feel like pain but seem to be
pregnant with other sounds.

We two
stand in mute amazement,
frozen with stone limbs.
That was real.
That was pain.
Must have been love.
