Karl Miller

Seeing you spent in black & white
brought back your dare-jump off a roof
into the chlorinated blue
from which
you rose
laughing wildly
a crazed Botticelli

I went by the same pool today
roof sagging & flaking paint
haunted the kids
who played there
oblivious to your

ghost still
moving unmindfully
in the
broken summer light

Karl Miller is a graduate of the University of Florida, and lives in Coral Springs, FL. His work has appeared in various periodicals over the last few years; his play, A Night in Ruins, was produced Off Off Broadway earlier in 2013.
