Sundress Academy for the Arts Presents September Poetry Reading in Knoxville

The Sundress Academy for the Arts is excited to present a poetry reading featuring visiting writers Ansley Moon and Danielle Hanson on September 26th from 4:00-6:00 PM EST. This event will be held at Pretentious Beer Co in Knoxville, Tennessee with an open mic reading to follow! 

Ansley Moon

Ansley Moon (they/them) is the author of the poetry collection, Register the Missing (Kaya Press) and How to Bury the Dead (Black Coffee Press). They are an Asian American adoptee, poet, and educator. Moon writes the Teach This Poem series for the Academy of American Poets and is a Co-Founding member of the Starlings Collective, a BIPOC adoptees writing and artist collective. Moon’s work has appeared in Agni, Hyphen Magazine, Southern Humanities Review, among other publications.

Danielle Hanson is Professor of the Practice in Creative Writing at UNC-Chapel Hill and author of three collections of poetry, most recently The Night Is What It Eats. She has won the Elixir Press Prize, Codhill Press Poetry Prize, and been Finalist for the Georgia Author of the Year Award. She serves as the inaugural Poet Laureate for Costa Mesa, California and is an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow for 2026-2027. She is Guest Editor for Codhill Press and Marketing Director for Sundress Publications.
