Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo is a poet, organizer, and educator. She teaches poetry workshops through Writing Workshops LA and UCLA Extension. Her first poetry collection, Posada: Offerings of Witness and Refuge (Sundress Publications) recounts her time volunteering in the Arizona desert-lands as the daughter of Mexican immigrants. A former Steinbeck Fellow, Poets & Writers California Writers Exchange winner and Barbara Deming Memorial Fund grantee, she’s received residencies from Hedgebrook, Ragdale, National Parks Arts Foundation, and Poetry Foundation and has work published in crazyhorse, Calyx, and Acentos Review. She is a cofounder of Women Who Submit.
