Sundress Publications announces the upcoming release of Jonathan Wlodarski’s first full-length collection, Love Letters to a Future Ice Age.
Combining fabulism and climate fiction, the ten stories in Love Letters to a Future Ice Age survey strange, broken versions of the world that shatter our understanding of grief, labor, and solitude. The characters in this collection must adapt to the rising tides of change—some stubbornly, some willingly—or else be swept away entirely. Haunting, timely, and revelatory, Love Letters to a Future Ice Age asks us to consider how we navigate an unnavigable world in flux.
For Richard Mirabella, author of Brother & Sister Enter the Forest, “the stories in Love Letters to a Future Ice Age excavate and excoriate the absurd moment we’re living with wonder, dread, and humor. Jonathan Wlodarski is a fabulist of the first order, with a witty and sharp voice, imagining possible catastrophes and new visions of our dangerous world, our folly and failures. This wonderfully queer debut collection is bursting with omens and symbols. Hallucinatory, playful, and addictive as a confection.”
